James Cusick

In May 2009, I joined the Australian Marine Mammal Centre as an applications developer to construct and manage a web-orientated database for the collection and presentation of cetacean sightings, strandings, field survey and photo-identification data using various technologies such as Coldfusion, XML, JSON, AJAX and Python.

Previous to my employment with the Australian Marine Mammal Centre I worked as a software engineer for a local company developing web applications. The applications that I worked on required knowledge of both client / server side web technologies (ASP.NET 3.5, C# 3.0, AJAX, XML, CSS, HTML) as well as relational database systems (Oracle 10g, SQL Server 2005).

Besides work, I am currently studying a Bachelor of Computing at the University of Tasmania and completing a MCPD certification in .NET.
