Andrew Leachman
During his time at sea, Andrew Leachman has voyaged from the Arctic to the Antarctic. He joined the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in 1973. For 17 years he was the captain of the James Cook, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries research vessel. Before this, Andrew was with the New Zealand Shipping Company. Andrew first brought Tangaroa to New Zealand from Norway for the Ministry of Fisheries in 1991. This will be his seventh trip to Antarctica as ship’s master. |
