Paul EnsorPaul Ensor has been studying seabirds, seals and cetaceans since 1976. Most of his work has been at sea on research vessels in pelagic ecosystems, including annual Austral summer contracts since 1980 with the International Whaling Commission on Antarctic cruises as well as Arctic summer contracts with the Norwegian Government since 1995. The main aim of these cruises has been to provide information to allow determination of the status of populations of large whales that feed in polar waters. Paul has also taken part in aerial surveys for marine mammals in the Antarctic, temperate waters and tropics. He has attended the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission for more than 10 years. His interests include abundance estimation, foraging ecology and general ecology.
