Research interests
Dr Luciano Dalla Rosa is a professor at the Institute of Oceanography of the Federal University of Rio Grande. He has been a researcher at the Brazilian Antarctic Program (PROANTAR) since 1995, as well as two National Institutes of Science and Technology: Antarctic Environmental Research (INCT-APA) and the Center of Integrated Oceanography (INCT-Mar/COI). He is a member of the IWC Scientific Committee and the SCAR Expert Group on Birds and Marine Mammals.
Luciano’s research and teaching interests revolve around the ecology and conservation of marine vertebrates, especially cetaceans. His main research interests include species distribution modelling, biotelemetry, cetacean population dynamics, cetacean-fisheries interactions, and Southern Ocean ecosystems with a focus on the ecology of fin, humpback and killer whales.
