The following passive acoustic recorders (with models and manufacturers listed), may be suitable for use in SOHN nodes. The technology for underwater acoustic recording is still rapidly developing. Thus, links to manufacturers websites are provided in lieu of technical specifications, since such specifications may change frequently. The following list is not comprehensive, is provided for information only, and the presence of an instrument should not be considered as an endorsement by the Southern Ocean Research Partnership or the SOHN.
